News Round-Up

1. Attorney General Gonzales to "prosecute obscenity cases" more aggresively. Now, he's talking about those gosh-durned pornographic videos, but when I hear obscene, I think of it more in terms of the "offensive" and "repulsive" sense. Along those lines, you know what is obscene? Torture.

2. Batman is at it again, and this time, he's brought Robin and Captain America. Am I alone in thinking that maybe Batman and Cap are *not* good role models for responsible parenting? After all, they both had their young charges die as a result of dangerous situations they (Bats and Cap) put them (Robin and Bucky) in. Also, you can totally see Robin's "old chum" in that picture.

3. Some crazy lady at the subway station today was screeching, "Yellow journalism?!? You callin' the Supreme Court yellow?!?" I have no idea what the context of that was.

4. Academic Journal Seventeen has a feature this month aimed at helping girls figure out if they are lesbians. There's a four-question quiz you can take, where the questions boil down to: 1. Do you not like guys? 2. Really, do you not like guys? 3. Do you like girls instead? 4. Wanna kiss some girls? The issue also came with an AOL disc packed in a little tin. If this wasteful style of packaging continues, AOL discs will come shoved inside a dead condor and encased in uranium.

5. Diaryland now has .rss capabilities, so if you want to syndicate this site (why?), the feed is here. I thought of making an LJ .rss feed, but I need a Paid Membership to do that, so eh. Or maybe I should just move to LJ altogether? Or rock the Typepad? I'm inexplicably getting tired of Diaryland. What do *you* think, Dear Reader?
