2005-02-02 - 4:16 p.m. From an ad sent to the library by a certain "women's group" which, among other things, thinks that Harry Potter is causing children to practice witchcraft (I know of no child who has successfully practiced witchcraft after reading Harry Potter): "As Christians, the health benefits of soy empower us to be a strong witness as we demonstrate obedience to God's command that we treat our body as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corintians 6:19-20)" 1. What a grammatical nightmare... 2. Does soy do anything for non-Christians? 3. Do fundamentalists talk like this all the time? 4. Can a fundamentalist Christian just enjoy something and reap its benefits without it being directly tied to Christianity? I don't understand religion. p.s. "Soy Empowerment" sounds like some wanky little emo band. p.p.s. Am not dead. Simply haven't been on the internet much lately, due to much to do at work and to a cruddy connection at home. I owe many people emails, esp. one B.Danner, who has a natural 18 in Awesome and a +2 Cloak of Rad, and I hope to get cracking on that soon now that things have died down around here...
