Last night, Christine and Ryan and I made a fantastic journey to Paradise to see Einstürzende Neubauten.

AWESOME

I mean, damn, was that a great show. Three hours packed with fantastic! The band looked lovely and, of course, one Mr. Bargeld was amazing. Good god, that man is sensual... the way he stands and speaks and moves had me trembling all night. Also nice was the fact that I had my hands on the stage the entire time and was close enough to see Blixa's fillings when he screamed. He didn't really look in my direction, but I think Alex Hacke was totally checking me out.

Two minor annoyances: There was a fellow behind us who kept heckling - I think he was mad that they wouldn't play "Disobey". He drew lots of Dirty Looks from the audience and the band and I can only assume he was beaten to death shortly after the show. Also, right up center stage was this girl in an aviator cap who managed to keep this detached hipster "oh god I am so bored with everything" look on her face the entire time. If I ever get so cool that I cease to enjoy things, I want you to shoot me.

But besides that, the show was fantastic. Blixa told adorable little anectdotes between songs. The band played instruments such as the air compressor, the drill, the transistor radio, the foam packing peanuts, and the big pieces of metal for banging on. I got away with the set list and a shattered drumstick (thanks, Christine!). And was too hyped to get to sleep until 2:30 AM.
